The Yamaha FD05 is one of the floppy disk drives Yamaha made for MSX computers. It consists of two parts: an interface that plops into the cartridge port of the computer and contains disk utilities for BASIC stored in ROM, and the actual disk drive. The drive reads 720KB double-sided 3.5 inches micro floppy disks, and has an internal power supply.
One additional disk drive (sold separately as the FD-051) can be daisy chained into the back of the first one through the use of a proprietary cable (FD-052). Canon released a rebranded version of this disk drive under the name VF100.
