The Yamaha MPC1 is a small "remote" that can be used to send MIDI Program Change signals over a MIDI OUT connection. It was probably intended to be used in live settings to send program changes over MIDI without menu diving. It's apparently only able to use channel 1, and it needs an external 12V power supply.
